Shady McShadester: When I first got her, her whole undercarriage was black. I scrubbed and scrubbed, took her to a groomer, and scrubbed her some more. I couldn't get the "dirt" off of her. The first picture is the week I rescued her. The second one a month or so later. The next two are 4 months in. The last one is about a year on raw. The black was what can be considered black heads on the skin from a poor diet. They have all but cleared up with just switching her to a more species appropriate diet.

Jess U: “Chilli was born with black points, but he slowly lost them to a patchy liver colour as his allergy situation and general health deteriorated. It's hard to see in this photo because his nose is so hairy, but even the pigment of the rims of his eyes had turned liver. Compare to the puppy pic and the 'after' pic where he looks like he's remembered to put his eye liner on! After 2 years on raw, I noticed his black colouring had almost entirely been restored! Here you go - he's about 9 months old here. Gorgeous black points! The puppy pic was taken at about 9 months old. He'd be about 5 yrs in the 'before' pic, and about 7 yrs in the 'after' pic. He just turned 8 yrs.”
Rhi M: “PMR fed, one year old. Fed premades for a year when living with my son. Rough coat, poor muscle tone, dirty teeth, awful poop. 10 months back living with me and on PMR - energy has returned, muscle tone returned, teeth are clean, coat is soft.” *This sight hound breed is known to look “skinny”. If they carry too much weight on top it can lead to severe joint damage. Their legs cannot support a heavy frame. This sight hound is in perfect form and health.

Lex M: “This is Sylvia 1 month prior to starting raw--poor bald doggy! We have since found out that she has a rare genetic disorder called canine follicular Dysplasia that was causing the hair loss and some other issues. This is Sylvia today after eating Raw for 1 year and PMR for just over 6 months. it is so much better than I could have ever hoped for! The vets told me she would probably lose all of her fur within two years and told me not to expect a lifespan of more than 5 years--shows what they know! We celebrated her 5th birthday last week and she has never been healthier. Thanks to PMR she is now a beautiful and healthy girl!”

Carey D: “Our boy had bad Dandruff as a puppy and then started losing random patches. Multiple vet visits couldn't figure out the problem. He has been raw fed for almost a year now and the patches are gone. The vets tried different antibacterial creams, washes and then tested for ringworm and then went back for skin scrapings but nothing showed up. We switched to raw a little while after it started and someone suggested we tried cleaning it with apple cider vinegar (can't remember which group) so we did and we haven't had any problems since. His coat is much brighter now too (red boy). That said, we have noticed they all have gorgeous eyes, teeth and coats it was just he had something we could compare best to.” *This could have been a zinc deficiency. This is common with sled dogs. Raw diets have more healthy levels and more bioavailable zinc.

Cheryl: I switched my dogs to raw last November because one of my guys, Butch, was having skin issues and elevated Calcium levels.
Here is Butch with patches of hair missing. It kept falling out and the vet didn’t know why. And then the next photo is after a few months on raw and some natural bathing remedies. After 9 months of increasing Calcium levels - his CA came down into the normal range and his coat looks beautiful. I know it’s because of his raw diet.
Heather has walked me through a number of issues with both of my guys. I’ve appreciated both her and Rhi’s help. I would not have made it this far without them. I’m very thankful for all they’ve done.
And a footnote— I never knew my dogs were NOT supposed to smell like fritos and have bad “dog breath”. Butch has no smell at all anymore and we’re still working on Doug but he’s almost there. And neither one of them have bad dog breath!
